This is the first of what I hope will be many posts. I hope to talk about all things #SouthDade, the market in general, what is happening in the industry, economic development, transportation...in short, nothing is out of bounds. I am very active in the South Dade community and love not only the place, its diversity and potential, but also the fact that even our own Miami Dade residents have no idea how vibrant this place is. I'm going to use the EDC of South Dade's definition of South Dade - everything south of Kendall, from the bay to the Everglades and all the way to Florida City. It is a huge piece of property with over 600,000 residents. A full 30% of the county's population. And as it has been the place where developers have found their groove, a good number of Greater Miami's workforce lives here. Now I've some thoughts about how we can - and have the obligation to - help make South Dade even more vibrant but that will be in future posts.
I also hope to share with you links to the conversations I have as one of the hosts of South Dade Shout Out. For example today I spoke with Frank Rosa, co-founder of Florida Solar Partners and we chatted about solar power, how much the industry and technology has changed over the years and why it makes sense for a homeowner to make that investment. By the way, it makes even MORE sense for certain commercial owners to make that investment. Between cost savings and incentives, the equipment pays for itself very quickly.
And of course I will share Real Estate information with you. The ups and downs, the changes in how compensation will flow to Realtors (hint: commissions have ALWAYS been negotiable) and how that is a good thing for everyone, the importance and impact of interest rates, and what is going to happen to the condominium market? That is my intent. That is my focus. To provide ways for you to be informed and get real data. As always, reach out and let me know if you have any questions and if this post appeals to you. There is more on the way!!
